There will be some disruption in Abbey Fields between November 2025 and early January 2026 during the installation of new gas and water mains to the new swimming pool. Both services will share the same trench, and the route will follow that of the existing mains water supply, from High Street, as shown below.
The route will be fenced off with a couple of passing places for pedestrian access around the Abbey Fields.
The planned schedule of works is as follows:
- 3 November 2025. Fencing erected along the route
- 17 November 2025. Excavation commences
- 18-23 November 2025. Cadent highways work on High Street (expect a road closure)
- 24 November 2025. Installation of pipework (Cadent and Severn Trent)
- 23 January 2026. Planned completion
