Our annual Bird Walk on Sunday morning, April 19th, drew 27 participants. This year, we experimented with a new approach – dividing everyone into two groups. This change was highly successful, making everyone feel more engaged. Thanks to our four fantastic leaders – Toby Arnold and Jon Holmes from FOAF, along with Laura Croddock from the RSPB and local expert Steve Smith – we enjoyed an educational session identifying birds by sight and song, with interesting facts about each species.

We recorded 19 bird species, including Chiffchaff, Reed Bunting, Blackcap, Dunnock, and Reed Warbler. A highlight was the Song Thrush, heard at various points along the route and spotted clearly near the lake.
